This past Friday, my friends and I got together and drove up to Luray, Virginia in the Shenandoah Valley. It’s a really beautiful area. We first went to the Luray Zoo, which was amazing. They even had a petting zoo, which I went nuts over. They had a Black Mamba, the most poisonous land snake. It was quite an experience to get some shots of him! Evan and I have a friend who we went to college with living there so we made a point to go visit him. He was working, but luckily he works in a cute little restaurant called the Gathering Grounds. So we showed up, kind of out of the blue, and had a great time eating there while he waited on us! After he got off work we walked around his town and went to a couple thrift shops and just enjoyed the day. This day reminded me of how crucial it is to keep in touch with people you met in college. During school, you could just show up at someone’s dorm room or apartment and hang out, but now that we have all graduated and either returned to our hometowns or moved away, seing each other is not so easy. It requires a certain level of dedication and you really start to see who is important to you. So far, I’ve stayed close with most of the people I care about from college. Hopefully I can keep it up :). Here are the favorites!
